Gainesville man drowns; Details on Thursday Cleveland Hwy. accident; White Co. official honored

*A Gainesville man drowned Friday afternoon when he fell into the river at Tallulah Gorge State Park. The state Department of Natural Resources (DNR) says Exauce Kabeya, 19, was hiking at the time. The accident happened about midday and his body was recovered a few hours later.

*The state patrol late Friday released details of a multi-vehicle chain-reaction accident that closed a section of Cleveland Highway during Thursday afternoon rush hour. Troopers say it began when two vehicles that were stopped for traffic near Butler Road were hit from the rear by another pushing them into a fourth. The accident was one of two that tied up traffic on busy Hall County roads during the Thursday afternoon rush hour.
