Wrecks snarl rush hour traffic

Two late-afternoon traffic accidents brought rush hour traffic to a halt on two busy Hall County roads Thursday but there were no serious injuries, according to the state patrol.

STATE PATROL NARRATIVES:

*On May 2, at 4:58 PM, troopers responded to Georgia 60 (Candler Road) and Roy Parks Drive in reference to a crash. Upon arrival, the investigation revealed that vehicle 1 (2020 F-150) was traveling north on Georgia 60 and vehicle 2 (2018 Nissan Sentra) was traveling south on Georgia 60.

Vehicle 1 failed to maintain its lane and crossed the yellow center line, striking vehicle 2 head on. Vehicle 1 came to a final rest on the shoulder of Georgia 60 and vehicle 2 traveled onto the west shoulder and overturned onto its driver side.

Driver 1, Ronald Patrick 43 yo male, stated he fell asleep prior to impact. Driver 2, Adam Switzer 28 yo male, was injured and transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center. At this time, no charges were made.

*On May 2, at 5:58 PM, troopers responded to I-985 and Exit 20 in reference to a crash.

Upon arrival, the investigation revealed that vehicle 1 (2018 Hyundai Sonata) was traveling behind vehicle 2 in the left lane. Vehicle 2 (2022 Ford Bronco) was in the left lane.

Vehicle 1 struck the rear of vehicle 2. Driver 2 (Ethan Nix, 22 YO male) stated he had to brake abruptly due to traffic. Driver 1 (Madison Bush, 18 YO female) was cited for following too closely.

No injuries were reported.”

At mid-morning Friday, a state patrol spokesman said he was still waiting on information on a crash that occurred a few hours later on Cleveland Highway at River Walk Subdivision.
