Ga.’s ever-changing drought

The yo-yo effect of the drought continues in Georgia with all the gains it had made that we reported a week ago now history, according to this week’s report from the U.S. Drought Monitor (USDM).

This week, 49 percent of the state is considered drought-free, including Hall and parts, if not all, of the surrounding counties. Last week, that number was 37 percent. The week before that? Well, you get the idea.

This week most of the drought is confined to south Georgia, along and south of a line from the Statesboro area to Albany to Bainbridge.
