Gainesville lottery player takes home $500k

“A Georgia Lottery player became a millionaire over the holiday weekend, winning $3 million in the July 4 Mega Millions drawing. The lucky ticket, purchased at Publix, 1635 Old 41 Highway NW, Kennessaw, matched all five white-ball numbers and included a built-in 3X Megaplier, tripling the standard $1 million prize. The next Mega Millions drawing is set for July 8, with an estimated jackpot of $70 million.

In another big win, a Gainesville resident won the $1 million top prize playing the Millionaire Maker scratcher. The ticket was purchased at Chevron Food Mart, 4257 Winder Highway in Flowery Branch. The winner claimed the prize on July 3 and chose the cash option, receiving $505,685. Last week alone, Georgia Lottery players claimed $41,909,778 in scratch-off winnings.

Fantasy 5 produced two jackpot winners in three days. On July 4, a player won $567,689 with a ticket from Sandhill BP, 3571 Carrollton Villa Rica Highway, Carrollton. On July 6, another player won $150,000 with a ticket purchased at Magnet Market, 4565 Highway 20 Southeast in Conyers.

Georgia Lottery’s Diggi Games also delivered major prizes via the mobile app and website:

  • An Ellenwood resident won $64,061 playing Mystic Fortune on July 4.
  • A player in Hephzibah won $26,956 playing Elephant King Jackpots on July 3.
