There was little change in intensity and coverage area in the drought in Georgia over the past seven days.
The U.S. Drought Monitor (USDM) reported Thursday that the drought still has its hold on Hall and all other counties in the state except for a few in east central and southeast Georgia. Only ten percent of the state is considered drought-free.
Most counties are categorized as “abnormally” dry while the others, including Hall and those around us, are classified as “moderate.” But it’s even worse (severe) for a few counties in middle, west and northwest parts of the state.
Meanwhile, the level of Lake Lanier is unchanged from a week ago – 1070.5 – half-a-foot below normal for this time of year.
