One of 20 people targeted in a roundup of drug suspects in Stephens County last week has been captured in Hall County.
The Stephens County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) says Quincy Jones, 43, Toccoa, a “major player” in the Manathan Colbert Drug Trafficking Organization (DTO) was arrested following a traffic stop and brief manhunt on I-985.
“Agents and investigators with several agencies…initiated efforts to locate Jones,” according to a SCSO news release. “It was determined that Jones was traveling throughout northeast Georgia and into Metro Atlanta.”
After his vehicle was located in DeKalb County, authorities continued their efforts to pinpoint his location. The investigation ultimately revealed that Jones had left DeKalb County and was hiding in Hall County.
“During the investigation, the Georgia State Patrol conducted a traffic stop on I-985 South, where Jones was found in the driver’s seat. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Hall County Jail.”
Though the news release did not say when he was arrested, jail records show it was on Friday, and he was still being held in Hall County as of early Sunday.
