A raid on the closed Possum Gizzards Thrift Store in Cumming this week led to the arrest of a woman wanted in Gwinnett for two years and two other people as well as illegal drugs and more than a dozen guns.

“In July the Lanier Regional Drug Task Force (LRDTF) got word that Carl Wilford was selling methamphetamine from inside the closed business and that Brianna McCarthy, was hiding inside the building. She was wanted for escape from the Gwinnett County Comprehensive Correctional Complex in June 2022. These types of investigations take some time and can include other agencies. In this case, LRDTF partnered with the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office (ARDEO). The two teams worked tirelessly to build their case and on Wednesday night they made their move.
Forsyth County SWAT executed the search warrant the two drug teams obtained for Possum Gizzard’s Thrift Store. During the search of the business, 29.7 grams of Methamphetamine, 1.8 grams of Fentanyl, and other drug related objects were seized. In addition to the drugs, 13 guns were seized.
Wilford was arrested and charged with Possession of Methamphetamine with intent to Distribute, Possession of Fentanyl with Intent to Distribute, Possession of a Firearm, Violation of Georgia Controlled Substance Act, Possession of Drug Related Objects, and Hindering Apprehension of a Fugitive.
McCarthy was arrested and charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Scheduled IV Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Related Objects and ID Fraud.
Joshua Massie was arrested and charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Scheduled IV Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Related Objects and Hindering Apprehension of a Fugitive.”
