The search in the Gillsville area for a murder suspect ended about 7:00 tonight when Hall County Sheriff’s deputies took Keegan Phillips into custody on Bryant Quarter Road. The Hall County Sheriff’s Office says one of its K9 units spotted Phillips and made the arrest.
The Rabun County Sheriff’s Office had confirmed about three hours earlier that Phillips was wanted on murder charges for a homicide that recently occurred in Rabun County.
According to HCSO, a resident of the Gillsville area spotted Phillips and notified local authorities.
During the search, residents of the area were advised to lock their doors, remain inside and report any suspicious activity. Several state and local law enforcement agencies participated in the search which lasted for several hours.
