“This (Thursday) morning, information was received by the Banks County Sheriff’s Office H.E.R.O. Unit that a middle school-aged student allegedly made threats and possibly had a weapon onboard a school bus.
In coordination with school officials, the bus was able to be stopped, and H.E.R.O Deputies were able to board the bus to ensure no weapons were present. The student was removed from the bus, and all other students returned to school safely.
An investigation is being conducted by the Sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Division and in coordination with the school system.”
