Four displaced by Lula house fire; one taken to hospital

Four people were left homeless and one was taken to a hospital as the result of a fire Sunday morning in East Hall. County firefighters had to fight brisk winds and bitter cold while trying to control the mid-morning blaze.

About 10:30, Hall County Fire Rescue (HCFR) responded to the 4600 block of Cagle Mill Road in Lula for reports of a residential fire. Spokeswoman Kimberlie Ledsinger said first arriving units discovered a fully involved single story home on a partial basement.

Four people, three adults and one child, were displaced by the fire which destroyed the house. One person was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center – condition unknown as of late Sunday afternoon.

The residence was a total loss, and the cause of the fire was not immediately known.
