A 25-year-old Forsyth County man faces child sex charges following his arrest this week during Operation Bytedown, a statewide initiative of the GBI’s Internet Crimes Against Children Unit.
Elvis Beltran Pineda, was taken into custody during a raid at house in Forsyth County, according to the county sheriff’s office, which adds that numerous electronic devices were seized for analysis. Two external hard drives were previewed and large amounts of CSAM (Child Sexual Abuse Material) were reportedly found on the devices.
Pineda was arrested Thursday and charged with two counts of Possession of CSAM. He remained in the Forsyth County Jail Friday with no bond.
Operation Bytedown focused on peer-to-peer networks that collectors of child pornography use to download and trade movies and images with others in the network, according to the sheriff’s office.
