Forsyth Co.: Burn ban temporarily lifted to permit burning storm debris

County residents will be allowed to burn vegetative debris caused by the July 20 storms now through Oct. 1. Permissible storm debris includes trees, brush and stumps. Other storm damage debris such as damaged housing may not be burned.

Daily burning conditions/restrictions still apply during this period.

And you should follow safety precautions when burning: check to see if it is a burn day, stay with the fire until extinguished, have piles that are no larger than six feet wide and two feet high, keep burning piles 25 feet away from woodlands and 50 feet away from structures, and only burn between 10 a.m. and 1 hour before sunset.
