Flowery Branch police car involved in S. Hall wreck; minor injuries

GEORGIA STATE PATROL NARRATIVE:

“On September 11th, 2023, at 5:30 PM Flowery Branch Police Officer Kenneth Nix, age 58, operating a marked Dodge Charger with lights and siren activated, was traveling north on SR 13 in a no passing zone while responding to a hit and run call.

Nix came upon a northbound Honda Pilot operated by a 17-year-old male of Buford. As Nix steered into the southbound lane of SR 13 to pass the Pilot, the juvenile turned left across the southbound lane toward the private drive of an auto repair business.

Nix’s Charger struck the Pilot on its driver side and both vehicles traveled off the roadway into a ditch. The Charger came to rest in the ditch while the Pilot overturned onto its top in the ditch.”

(EDITOR’S NOTE: The state patrol says both drivers suffered minor injuries.)
