HALL CO. FIRE RESCUE NEWS RELEASE:
“At approximately 4:30 p.m. Hall County Fire Rescue (HCFR) and Gainesville Fire Department (GFD) were dispatched to the 2100 block of Memorial Park Dr. for reports of a residential fire. First responding crews found heavy fire in the back of the home with heavy black smoke emitting from the roof.
Crews began a fire attack, knocking down the bulk of the fire quickly. The fire extended into the attic and roof line, but was located and extinguished. All of the occupants were accounted for, except for one pet dog.
The dog was saved from the home and was not breathing when it was found. The dog was resuscitated by fire personnel (see picture) and was alert and responding when HCFR and GFD left the scene.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time and under investigation by the Hall County Fire Marshal’s Office.”
