(EDITOR’S NOTE: This story has been updated to correct that the building was one-story not two-story, per HCFR.)
HALL CO. FIRE RESCUE (HCFR) NEWS RELEASE:
“At approximately 3:30 am, one Hall County med unit and one Shift Investigator, along with multiple units from Gainesville Fire Department arrived to the 2000 block of Dawsonville Hwy for reports of a commercial fire.
First arriving units found a fully involved one-story structure with exposures. Gainesville’s units began a defensive fire attack and were able to knockdown the bulk of the fire quickly. The building is considered a total loss and the primary search was all clear.
The Hall County Sheriff’s Office (was) able to block traffic on Dawsonville Hwy to assist the units. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time and the Hall County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.”
HCFR spokeswoman Kimberlee Ledsinger added that the building was no longer in use and the department did not have the name of the owner as of late Monday morning.
