FCSO: Undercover operation results in cocaine trafficking charge

A Cumming woman has been charged with trafficking in cocaine after an undercover investigation that began when detectives with the Johns Creek-Forsyth County Drug Task Force received a tip that a Forsyth County resident was receiving large amounts of cocaine through the mail and possibly distributing the cocaine throughout the county.

Through the investigation, the task force detectives were able to determine the packages were shipped via a national delivery service.  With the assistance of that delivery service’s Security Specialists, members of the task force were able to locate and intercept a package that was destined for the suspect’s home.

A Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) K9, name of Buzz, alerted to the odor of narcotics coming from the package, according to authorities. Investigators then opened the package after getting a search warrant to do so, and more than 60 grams of cocaine were reportedly found inside concealed in a bag of coffee.

Then, an undercover detective posing as delivery man delivered the package to the suspect’s address.  A search warrant for the home was obtained and additional cocaine was located, along with packaging materials and a digital scale, investigators said.  35-year-old Alexandra Claerbout was arrested for Trafficking Cocaine.
