Four men were arrested this week by Forsyth County authorities and charged in connection with a check fraud scheme. It happened on Tuesday, the sheriff’s office reported Friday.
The four had been operating in Cherokee County as well and had had some success in passing worthless $4,000 checks on some occasions. But their scheme came an end when they tried to cash one at the Citizens Bank on Georgia 400 in Forsyth County raising the suspicions of a teller who called 911.
Responding sheriff’s deputies ended up arresting the quartet and determined that the four had been manufacturing their fake checks.
Kenneth Robinson, Marcus Riggins, Demarco Marshall and Eric Hilliard are now in the Forsyth County Jail. Their hometowns were not listed.
