“Early in February, the owners of Preferred Tire and Truck Repair contacted FCSO to report that an ex-employee had stolen over $26,000 worth of tools and items from them.
As the investigation began, detectives learned that not only did the ex-employee steal items, he and his girlfriend scrapped steel and aluminum items that belonged to the company for money. The girlfriend was attempting to sell the rest of the tools on Facebook marketplace.
Through the course of the investigation, detectives were able to find out that the ex-employee was working at another tire shop in McDonough. The detectives obtained Felony Theft by Taking warrants and started trying to find the pair.
They were located at a Motel 6 in LaGrange and arrested and the investigators found some of the stolen tools in the current work truck the ex-employee was using.”
