FBPD: Woman’s rampage ends with her in jail

A Barrow County woman remained in the Hall County Jail early Thursday afternoon following an incident at a Flowery Branch business more than a week ago in which she attacked a fellow employee, damaged her car and set off a fire alarm.

FLOWERY BRANCH POLICE DEPT. (FBPD) NEWS RELEASE:

“On September 16…officers from the Flowery Branch Police Department responded to a
business located in the 4200 block of Falcon Parkway concerning a previous dispute and
reported property damage.

The reported incident occurred (three days earlier) when an employee, Emily Marie
Duncan, age 36, of Winder, Georgia, was involved in a heated altercation with other employees.

During this dispute, Ms. Duncan physically assaulted another employee by pulling her hair and
throwing a heavy power tool battery at her. Following the confrontation, she also activated a
fire alarm within the business and exited the premises.

In the parking lot, Ms. Duncan further damaged property by using an object to scratch the paint
on the victim’s vehicle. Surveillance footage captured all these actions.

After thorough investigation, including interviews with witnesses and review of the surveillance
video, officers sought and obtained arrest warrants for Ms. Duncan, charging her with:

 Aggravated assault
 Criminal damage to property
 Simple battery
 Misuse of a fire alarm

(Tuesday) Ms. Duncan voluntarily arrived at the Flowery Branch Police
Department, where she was taken into custody without incident.”

Duncan’s bond has been set at $12,900.
