FBPD: Traffic stop leads to drugs, firearms arrest

A large quantity of illegal drugs and several guns were confiscated following a traffic stop Tuesday by Flowery Branch police officers in the G.C. Crow Road/McEver Road area.

“Deago Kelly, 26, of Gainesville was later identified as the driver of the
vehicle,” police spokesman Lt. Tony Alvarez said. “During the course of the stop, officers developed probable cause to search the vehicle.

“Upon searching the vehicle, Officers located a large quantity of suspected marijuana, THC products, and multiple firearms.”

Deago was taken into custody without incident and taken to the Hall County Jail and booked on the following charges:

  • Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Substance
  • Possession of a Schedule I or II Controlled Substance
  • Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
  • Possession and Use of Drug-Related Objects
  • Defective Brake Light
