FBPD: Same store victimized twice since March by thief

The Flowery Branch Police Department (FBPD) has charged Fredrick Fitzgerald Hunter, 53, of Athens, in connection with two separate incidents of theft at the same store in the 5800 block of Spout Springs Road.

FBPD NEWS RELEASE:

“On March 2…Mr. Hunter entered the store and stole merchandise valued at over $500.00.
Following a thorough investigation, Flowery Branch Police investigators identified Mr. Hunter as
the suspect and secured a warrant for his arrest on March 20, 2024, for felony theft by
shoplifting.

In a subsequent incident on May 17…Mr. Hunter returned to the same store and again
stole merchandise valued at more than $500.00. Investigators acted quickly and obtained a
second arrest warrant for Mr. Hunter on May 23…also for felony theft by shoplifting.

On October 4…Mr. Hunter was booked into the Hall County Detention Center, where he is
currently being held on the charges.”

A spokeswoman for the Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) said its deputies picked Hunter up at the Barrow County Sheriff’s Office in Winder October 4 and returned him to Hall County.
