Fall festival season looming

With the official end of summer in sight the fall festival season is just around the corner. And as usual there are countless events scheduled across northeast Georgia, including old favorites such as Helen’s Oktoberfest, Gainesville’s Mule Camp Market, and Dahlonega’s Gold Rush Days.

Then there are some new ones, such as the Hall County Animal Shelter’s Furry Fall Festival Sept. 30 at Laurel Park 10:00-4:00.

Three are planned this weekend, with Oktoberfest beginning a two-month run Thursday.
