Electrical current was present in the water surrounding a Lake Lanier dock where a 64-year-old man died Sunday, according to state investigators.
“Georgia game wardens, along with Forsyth County Fire, responded to a drowning in Young Deer Creek on Lake Lanier,” state Department of Natural Resources (DNR) spokesman Mark McKinnon said Sunday night. “The 64-year-old male victim was swimming around his dock when he went down. I was told that the fire department found electric current in the water surrounding the dock.”
McKinnon added that a witness recovered the body prior to the arrival of the game wardens. The man’s name had not been released as of Sunday night.
