(EDITOR’S NOTE: Under Georgia law (O.C.G.A. § 16-5-70(d)), cruelty to children in the third degree happens when a child under 18 witnesses violence, such as a forcible felony, battery, or family violence battery, between other people—usually parents, guardians, or household members. It does not cover cases where there is direct, physical harm done to a child.)

Other information on each of these cases is not likely to be available until Tuesday when local law enforcement offices reopen following the holiday weekend.
