The drought worsened in Geogia over the past seven days, but the level of Lake Lanier remained unchanged.
The U.S. Drought Monitor (USDM) said Thursday the most significant change came in the number of counties now considered “extremely” dry – up three percent from a week ago. Meanwhile, the area considered “severely” dry continues to cover 69 percent of the state, including all of Jackson and Barrow counties and part of Gwinnett and Banks.
And, the level of Lake Lanier remained unchanged Thursday from a week ago – holding at 1065.5.
