The drought in Georgia which has shown little movement in intensity or areas affected the past few weeks has now consumed the ten percent of the state that was drought-free a week ago.
The U.S. Drought Monitor (USDM) reported Thursday that all of Georgia is now affected by the drought with the least serious part – “abnormally” dry – confined to the northeast and northwest corners. The rest of Georgia is suffering from either “moderate,” “severe,” or “extreme” drought.
