Drought conditions virtually unchanged

Drought conditions, which returned to Georgia last week for the first time in several weeks, changed little over the past seven days.

The U.S. Drought Monitor’s (USDM) weekly report shows that parts or all of 13 counties – all bordering Alabama, Tennessee or North Carolina – are experiencing “abnormally dry” conditions. They extend from extreme northwest Georgia to the northeast corner of the state.

This, of course, is based on data collected before the stormy weather and accompanying downpours that moved through north Georgia Wednesday night and early Thursday.
