Georgians can now add driver’s license renewal and other licensing transactions to their grocery list.
The state Department of Driver Services (DDS) has joined the Georgia Department of Revenue (DOR) vehicle registration self-service kiosks located at select Kroger and Publix stores including two in Hall County at the Kroger in New Holland and in the Kroger in Flowery Branch on Winder Highway.
“DDS encourages customers to take advantage of this service making the process of renewing driver’s licenses and identification cards more convenient, secure and efficient than ever before,” commented DDS Commissioner Spencer R. Moore. DDS has now joined 53 existing DOR self-service Kiosks at Kroger locations and five at Publix locations.
Customers can renew, replace or reinstate any card including all non-commercial licenses, ID cards, and select Commer driver’s licenses (CDL). CDL customers may be limited in what they can do via kiosk due to their self-certification and/or HAZMAT status. The kiosk provides an updated temporary paper license for customers to legally drive, and the permanent card, complete with a new photo, will be received in about 45 days.
