The Hall County Animal Shelter (HCAS) has a dozen rescued beagles awaiting adoption, according to the shelter volunteers Facebook page.
The dogs are among those rescued from two homes in Gainesville last month.
“This weekend, five beagles were adopted, and two senior beagles were rescued,” the Facebook post reads. “That leaves 12 beagles currently available…plus three senior beagles still in need of rescue.
“Additionally, we think there are approximately 18 more beagles waiting to move to adoptions once kennel space opens. And, of course, the usual strays and owner surrenders never stop.
“So yes—we truly need adoptions. We are still at capacity.”
***Please note that all dogs from this situation will require a medical waiver. This waiver states that the adopter must take the dog to a veterinarian within 10 days of adoption. A form will be provided to the adopter, which the veterinarian will need to complete. This form can be emailed back to the shelter by the vet, or brought to the shelter by the adopter.
***Please keep in mind that many of these dogs from this situation are most likely not potty trained, so they need patient adopters willing to train them.
