A Hall County’s sheriff’s deputy is the winner of this year’s Hall County Domestic Violence Task Force Officer of the Year Award.
The award was presented to deputy Wendy Saucedo at the annual Domestic Violence Breakfast & Briefing which was held Tuesday morning at the Gainesville Police Department. The award recognizes a local officer for his or her “compassion for victims of abuse, dedication, and professionalism.”
Dee Griffin, a news anchor at a TV station in Augusta, was the featured speaker.
Griffin shared her story of surviving an abusive marriage and the importance of law enforcement in helping her decide to leave the marriage.
