Demorest man charged in Ga. 365/Lula Rd. crash

The Georgia State Patrol has charged a Demorest man in connection with a traffic accident last month on Georgia 365 at Lula Road.

According to a report on the accident, which was released Tuesday, Matthe James Cochran, 20, was weaving in an out of traffic and at one point struck another vehicle, touching off a chain reaction accident involving three vehicles.

When the investigating trooper arrived, he said he found Cochran “was believed to be having an active drug overdose” and “administered Narcan and was able to bring (him) back to consciousness.”

Cochran remained in the Hall County Jail at mid-morning Tuesday. He’s being held without bond, charged with:

*POSSESSION AND USE OF DRUG RELATED OBJECTS

*POSSESSION MARIJUANA LESS THAN 1 OZ. –

*FAIL TO MAINTAIN LANE

*OPEN CONTAINER VIOLATION WHILE OPERATING A VEHICLE

*POSSESSION OF A SCH I OR II CONTROLLED SUBST W INTENT DISTRIBUTE

There were no serious injuries in the crash.
