Deceased LE officers remembered; NGHS Employee of Year; Optimist Club honors LE officers; LCCA employee on state panel

*Several people gathered at Alta Vista Cemetery Saturday to remember deceased law enforcement officers who are buried there by placing small American flags at their graves. The group also placed flags in front of a memorial to those who have been cremated. And there are plans to similarly recognize those buried elsewhere in the county.

*Lynne Cox, a licensed professional counselor with Northeast Georgia Health System (NGHS), has been named the system’s Employee of the Year. Cox, an employee assistance counselor, provides care and support to NGHS employees and their families – as well as other organizations throughout the community – alongside her therapy dog, Gili.

*Sgt. Tyler Morrison of the Flowery Branch Police Department has been named Officer of the Year by the Hall County Optimist Club, which recognizes local law enforcement officers each year at a Respect for Law dinner.

*Jackie Jones of Lanier College & Career Academy (LCCA) has been named to the SkillsUSA Georgia Board of Directors.
