Debates set for GOP congressional, U.S. Senate seats; Member of Hall state legislative delegation chosen for national GOP training program; GCC to hear budget presentations; EHHS student chosen for JEMC Washington Youth Tour

*A member of the Hall County state legislative delegation, Rep. Soo Hong (R-Lawrenceville), vice chair of the House Majority Caucus, was recently nominated by House leadership to participate in GOPAC’s 2026 Class of Emerging Leaders. Rep. Hong was selected to be part of a class of 38 legislators from across the country. GOPAC is a Republican state and local political training organization.

*Budget presentations from Elachee Nature Science Center and Keep Hall Beautiful are on the agenda for Thursday’s Gainesville Mayor and City Council (GCC) work session.

*An East Hall High School junior, Sterling Clendenning, is among high schoolers from the area chosen by Jackson EMC as delegates for this summer’s Washington D.C. Youth Tour.  The group will also include Jabe Andrews, a junior at Banks County High School; Emma Calin, a junior at North Gwinnett High; and Kaelyn Rhea, a junior at Jefferson High.
