Dawsonville woman cited in Browns Bridge Road accident

HCSO NARRATIVE:

“The Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) Accident Investigation Unit (AIU) cited a Dawsonville woman for failure to maintain lane in a Thursday morning, Aug. 21, traffic accident that caused rush-hour delays on Ga. 369/Browns Bridge Road.

AIU responded to the crash between a pickup truck and SUV at roughly 8:45 a.m. near Cumberland Point Drive. According to the investigation, the driver of a 2003 Ford F150, Mayra Olivio, 25, of Dawsonville, was eastbound on Browns Bridge Road. As she negotiated the curve near Fincher Drive, her truck crossed the center line and hit a westbound 2011 Kia Soul driven by Emily Christine Post, 21, of Danielsville.

The collision caused the SUV to rotate counterclockwise, coming to rest facing east in the eastbound lanes. The truck continued off the west shoulder of the road and hit a tree. Although both drivers complained of suffering pain following the crash, each refused treatment. AIU cited Olivio as the at-fault driver. The drivers were not carrying passengers.

While the crash initially blocked Browns Bridge Road, AIU opened one lane at approximately 9:15 a.m. The wreck was cleared by 9:50 a.m.”
