The applicant whose proposal for a data center in South Hall had been met with a lot of citizen opposition withdrew the request for a special use permit for the facility a prior Thursday night’s Hall County Commission meeting.
However, left on the table was a request to rezone the Candler Road property from Planned Industrial Development to Light Industrial, which the commission approved.
Public opinion slanted heavily against rezoning to accommodate the data center. Overwhelmingly negative. The board voted 3-1 though to rezone the O’Kelley Road property from PID (Planned Industrial Development) to Light Industrial.
