Holiday BUI; Dahlonega plant expanding; UPDATE: Holiday traffic fatality ID’d

*A 37-year-old man charged with BUI is being held in the Hall County Jail on bonds totaling $4,550 following his arrest Thursday night. Other charges include:

So far, this is the only reported BUI on the Hall County side of Lake Lanier Thursday.

*A manufacturing plant in Dahlonega is poised to expand while adding 80 jobs to its workforce, according to the Dahlonega Nugget. Satellite Industries, a portable restroom manufacturer, is planning to construct a 172,000 square foot addition on Fannie Russell Road near Burnt Stand. The company’s current facilities are on Ben Higgins Road.

*UPDATED 11:00 A.M. FRIDAY: At least one person has died on northeast Georgia roads and highways so far this holiday period, according to the Georgia State Patrol (GSP). Keegan Dean Polanszek 23, Elberton, died as a result of injuries received in the crash, Elbert County Deputy Coroner Beth Seymour said. The accident happened late Wednesday near Elberton. As of 6:00 this morning the statewide count was five fatalities. The state patrol’s reports on weekend fatalities will continue through midnight Sunday.
