Forsyth County sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the Wal-Mart located on Atlanta Highway late Tuesday afternoon following reports of an active shooting in the parking lot and a bomb in the store.
All of this began to unfold around 5:30, according to sheriff’s office spokeswoman Stacie Miller. “The pharmacy received an anonymous phone call from a woman who stated two men were trying to shoot her in the parking lot. The caller then hung up.
“Six minutes later, a second phone call was made to the pharmacy. The woman caller stated there was a bomb in the front bathroom and then hung up.”
The store was evacuated, and the sheriff’s office was called. “After the evacuation was complete, four bomb dogs were called to…conduct a sweep of the building. No bomb was located, nor was any evidence of an active shooter in the parking lot.”
However, the case remains under investigation.
