UPDATE: 4:30 P.M. WEDNESDAY: The man arrested earlier this week in connection with an incident at a Commerce automobile dealership has been identified as Dustin Humphries, 36, Murrayville. He’s facing several drug and weapons charges, possession of an explosive device, simple assault – eight charges in all, according to Jackson County Jail records.
EARLIER STORY. POSTED AT 10:15 A.M. WEDNESDAY. A gunman police say confronted his former employer in Commerce Saturday returned Monday, armed again, but this time he was arrested – and found in possession of, among other things, a homemade bomb.
Officers responded to Auto Gallery Dodge Monday in reference to the disgruntled former employee. Police had been called to the business Saturday when he showed up, armed, demanding that he get his job back “and asked to fight.” But he left before they got there. However, officers did learn who he was, and warrants were taken for his arrest.
Monday, he was back – and again armed. Again, police were called.
This time he was arrested, according to a Commerce Police Department (CPD) Facebook posting, and his vehicle searched.
“He was found in possession of a long gun with a homemade suppressor and a revolver was found with a suppressor,” the posting says. “He was also in possession of a homemade explosive device.”
The man’s name was not immediately available.
