The East Point man convicted of killing a Gainesville man outside a local pharmacy while he waited for his wife to get a prescription filled has pleaded guilty to stabbing a fellow inmate at a state prison in Augusta.
DeMarvin Bennett’s sentence in the prison murder will be added to the sentence he’s serving for the Hall County murder.
Bennett pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter and was sentenced to 20 years in prison by a judge in Augusta.
He was already serving a life sentence for the 2021 murder of Jack Hough outside the CVS Pharmacy on Park Hill Drive.
The Georgia Supreme Court last December upheld the verdict and sentence Bennett was given in the Gainesville case. SCOGA upholds verdict, sentence in Gville murder case
