The congregation of a new South Hall church which has been embroiled in controversy since announcing plans to locate there has opened.
According to The Light of the World’s Facebook page a consecration for the church was recently held.
The church is located in a former bank building in Flowery Branch and is described in the Facebook post as “a place where brethren will peacefully gather to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ and give glory to God through song and prayer according to Christian teachings.”
The controversy arose in the early stages of planning for the church when people in South Hall learned it was associated with the Mexico-based La Luz Del Mundo whose leader pleaded guilty two years ago of sexually abusing some of its young congregates.
