Commerce man dead, Hoschton man charged in work-related shooting

A Commerce man was shot and killed in the parking lot of a McDonald’s on Sugarloaf Parkway in Gwinnett County Wednesday and his boss has been charged with killing him.

Gwinnett Police Thursday identified the victim as Donald Stewart, 43, and the alleged shooter as Michael Todd, 40, of Hoschton. Todd has been charged with Malice Murder, Felony Murder, two counts of Aggravated Assault, and Possession of a Firearm During Commission of a Felony.  Police say the shooting was work-related and that the pair was arguing at the time. What the dispute was about was not disclosed but police say it had nothing to do with the restaurant.

Stewart died after being taken to a hospital. Todd remained on the and was immediately arrested.
