City’s July 4 schedule

The City of Gainesville will observe Independence Day Friday, July 4, resulting in unavailability of the following facilities and services:

All administrative offices, including those at the:

  • Gainesville Administration Building
  • Gainesville Community and Economic Development Building
  • Roy Franklin Hooper Jr. Public Safety Building (Gainesville Police Department + Gainesville Fire Department)
  • Gainesville Water Resources Building (Queen City Parkway)
  • Gainesville Civic Center (Gainesville Parks & Recreation), etc. (Please note the Splash Zone will remain open July 4!)

Gainesville-Hall County Community Service Center, including:

  • Meals on Wheels
  • Senior Life Center

Transportation, including:

  • Gainesville Trolley
  • WeGo

Garbage and recycling

  • The City is pleased to report garbage and recycling services will not be interrupted as the Fourth of July falls on a weekday when collection is not scheduled. From Monday, June 30-Thursday, July 3, all customers’ garbage and recycling will be picked up as usual. Please be sure to set your garbage and recycling at the curb by no later than 6:30 a.m. to ensure collection.

The City will return to business as usual Monday, July 7.
