The Gainesville City Council has appointed a member of the city planning and appeals board to temporarily fill the vacancy left with the recent resignation of Danny Dunagan.
Ryan Thompson will fill the remainder of Dunagan’s unexpired term through December 31
“Thompson was a member on the Planning and Appeals Board, but he resigned his position once appointed to City Council,” Deputy City Manager Angela Sheppard wrote in an email. “Ryan will be sworn in at the Council work session on Thursday, October 16th.”
A special election will be held in the spring to select a permanent successor to Dunagan.
