Man receives electrical shock while working at Demorest church

Habersham County E-911 dispatchers received a call at 3:15 Sunday afternoon reporting a possible electrocution at Habersham Church of Christ in Demorest. But when first responders got there, the man was still alive.

The victim was one of two people in the church building running a digital video connection cable when he made contact with electrical wires and suffered electrical burns and other unspecified injuries.

When emergency personnel arrived, the man was hanging from the ceiling.

Once he was freed, he was rushed by ambulance to Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville.

There was no update on the man’s condition as of late Monday night and his condition had not been released.
