Felipe Esteban Nunez, a teacher and coach at Chestatee High School (CHS), has been charged with rape and other sex-related charges by Banks County authorities, according to Hall County school officials, who said Thursday he was arrested late last Friday.
HALL CO. SCHOOL DISTRICT (HCSD) NEWS RELEASE:
“…Nunez has been charged with rape, aggravated sexual battery, and child molestation. At this point, the district has no evidence that this case involves Hall County students.
District officials were made aware of the allegations against Nunez shortly after 9:00AM,
February 13, 2026, and he was immediately placed on leave. A release to the public was not
made earlier, as the district was working in coordination with law enforcement and did not
want to compromise the integrity of the ongoing investigation.
Nunez was hired by the district in September of 2024. He teaches Spanish and coaches JV Boys
Soccer at Chestatee High School…”
The Banks County Sheriff’s Office says the victim is a relative of Nunez but declined, at this time, to release any more information about the case.
