Chase suspects wrecks, seriously injured; Habersham shooting; WHHS incident update

*The 48-year-old driver of an SUV involved in a chase early Sunday with Barrow County sheriff’s deputies was seriously injured when his vehicle overturned several times at the Ga. 53/Ga. 316 intersection. A deputy had tried to stop Gary Poor for Failing to Maintain Lane.

*The Habersham County Sheriff’s Office responded just after 11:45 Saturday night to a residence on Pea Ridge Road near Cornelia to a dispute call which involved a “possible self-inflicted gunshot wound.” A woman was taken to the Gainesville hospital for undisclosed injuries. No other details were available as of mid-afternoon Monday. The GBI is assisting in the investigatioin.

*The Hall County Sheriff’s Office says the social media post by a West Hall High School student late Sunday night that caused some alarm “did not violate Georgia law in any way.” Spokeswoman B.J. Williams said Monday afternoon “I spoke with the lieutenant over the SRO (School Resource Officer) Unit this morning.
