*State officials are putting the word out about a new insect pest that could wreak havoc on Georgia agriculture. Authorities say the Spotted Lanternfly has a taste for plants and trees, an appetite that could damage crops throughout the Peach State. So far, the Asian insect has only been spotted in Fulton County. However, experts say farmers and growers should spray crops religiously to keep the damaging insects — who pose no harm to humans — at bay.
*Georgia poll workers defamed by Rudy Giuliani have finally received some of his assets. The former Trump lawyer has finally delivered a watch collection, a ring, and a vintage Mercedes-Benz to Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss, nearly a year after being ordered to pay $148 million dollars for defamation. The women say Giuliani’s false claims about them led to threats and harassment, disrupting their lives.
* An investigation is underway after one person was hospitalized in critical condition after shots were fired early Friday afternoon on an I-20 exit ramp in Atlanta. Police say it involved an argument with a group selling water. The shooting prompted officers to block access to the ramp as they investigated the scene. The victim’s identity was not released. No suspect information was immediately available.
