Buford man charged in 3-week-old murder

Gwinnett Police Homicide detectives have charged Rodericus Jackson, 33, Buford, with Felony Murder and Aggravated Assault.  Jackson’s whereabouts are unknown currently. 

EARLIER NEWS RELEASE (OCT. 16) FROM GWINNETT POLICE:

“The Gwinnett County Police Department is investigating an incident in Buford that resulted in the death of one man.

Shortly before 3 a.m., officers assigned to the North Precinct were dispatched to a home on Allen St. in Buford in reference to a “person shot” call. When officers arrived, they discovered the body of an adult male inside a parked vehicle. Additional officers began canvassing the area, looking for the suspects.

The shooting victim was transported to a local hospital, where he later died.

At this time, detectives are following up on leads and trying to identify at least two other individuals who may be involved. The motive for this crime remains under investigation. 

The victim has been identified as Quentin Cantrell (age 35, Buford). Next-of-kin notification has been made.
