Brenau grad, Dawson Co. commissioner, Cumming veterinarian named to state boards

A Brenau University graduate who lives in Cleveland, a Dawson County commissioner and a Cumming veterinarian are among 104 recent appointments and reappointments to various state boards, authorities, and commissions.

The Brenau grad is Michael Foor who has been named to the Nonpublic Postsecondary Education Commission. Foor is the president of state operations for Georgia for Kinetic and previously served as vice president of state government affairs. Prior to joining Kinetic, Foor was the president of Georgia Communications Cooperative and part of Habersham Electric Membership’s efforts to build fiber-to-the-premise broadband service to communities in North Georgia. In addition to his responsibilities at Kinetic, Foor currently serves as chair for White County Development Authority.

Dr. Seth Stowers, who was elected to the Dawson County Board of Commissioners in 2023, has been appointed a member of the State Board of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Stowers is a veterinarian who is the owner of Hillside Veterinary Services in Dawsonville, which he opened in 2018.

Dr. John Tarabula was also named to that board by the governor. Dr. Tarabula has served as the medical director at the Animal Medical & Surgical Center in Canton since 1988. Additionally, he is the owner of Creekside Animal Hospital in Cumming, where he has been practicing since 2015.
