TWO MEN DROWN IN LANIER SATURDAY

NARRATIVE FROM STATE DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES:

“On Saturday, Georgia game wardens, along with Hall County Fire personnel, responded to a drowning call near East Bank Park on Lake Lanier. The victim was swimming from a boat when he went down and did not resurface. A search immediately began using boat mounted sonar. The Hall County Fire Services’ ROV was also utilized. Just after 9:00 p.m., the deceased victim was recovered in 46 feet of water. He has been identified as Tracey Stewart, age 61, of Stone Mountain.

On Saturday evening, Georgia game wardens, along with Hall County Fire personnel, responded to a drowning call near Van Pugh Park on Lake Lanier where a 27-year-old man was swimming from a boat, went under, and did not resurface. The search is continuing today. Updates to follow when new information is available.”
